Who is SureCraft Home
Built by a craftsman. Shaped by generations.
SureCraft Home was built on the idea that good work comes from knowing how things are made—and caring enough to do them well.
Craftsmanship runs deep in my family. I’m a fourth-generation craftsman, raised around people who built, fixed, welded, painted, milled, and created—not because it was trendy, but because it was necessary and meaningful.
My great-grandfather and grandfather both built their own homes in Michigan. My father was a welding craftsman who built coal mines—projects where precision and integrity mattered because failure wasn’t an option. My mother was an artist who painted on wood and made jewelry by hand, teaching me that function and beauty don’t have to be separate things.
I grew up surrounded by people who made things work—and made them last.

Learning to Build by Building

My own path into craftsmanship started early.
In elementary school, I shared a room with my two brothers. Not having my own space, I built it. I crafted a "black box" measuring 3 feet by 1 foot by 1 foot and put a lock on it. A boy needs a place to keep his favorite toys :- ).
In junior high, I spent time in the cornfield next to our house, picking up corn cobs and stalks and turning them into corn-cob pipes—learning how material behaves, how tools feel in your hands, and how patience matters.
When I needed something, I built it.
Once, while working on model cars, I needed a way to organize small parts. Instead of buying something, I went into the basement and built a parts holder out of scrap wood and clothespins. It wasn’t fancy—but it worked, and it was mine.
One Christmas, home from college, I saw a wooden book stand in a magazine that I liked. My dad took me to a friend’s shop where we milled the wood together, and I built a wooden cart to hold my books. That moment stuck with me—not just the object, but the process.
A Family of Makers
Craftsmanship isn’t just something I do—it’s part of the family culture.
I have a brother-in-law who builds custom cars, where precision and creativity meet. Two of my brothers are flooring experts who understand wood from the ground up. Each of us approaches our craft differently, but we share the same values: do it right, understand the materials, and don’t rush the work.

Why SureCraft Home Exists
SureCraft Home exists for homeowners who value judgment, craftsmanship, and trust.
Not every project needs to be a remodel. Not every solution needs to be replaced. Sometimes the right answer is a thoughtful repair. Other times, it’s a custom upgrade built specifically for how a home—and the people in it—actually live.
That’s the work I enjoy most.
Life Outside the Shop
I’m married and have a daughter heading off to college—a milestone that makes you look at homes, time, and craftsmanship a little differently.
We’ve traditionally been a beagle family, but after our last one passed, our daughter convinced us to bring home a cat. Like most good changes, it wasn’t part of the original plan—but it worked out just fine.
