Shed Repair in Jacksonville: Standing Behind Our 5-Year Craftsmanship Guarantee

Recently, we completed a custom shed build for a homeowner in Jacksonville. The structure turned out beautifully — solid framing, clean trim lines, and durable exterior finishes designed to last in Florida weather.

Shortly after the shed was completed, one of the screws securing the locking hardware snapped. The break left only one screw holding the lock and door handle in place.

The homeowner hesitated to call. Two months later, she finally reached out.

Her concern?
“It’s probably not covered.”

That’s exactly why we offer a 5-year craftsmanship guarantee.

Broken shed door lock screw repair in Jacksonville

Our 5-Year Guarantee Means Peace of Mind

Even though the hardware itself was purchased by the homeowner, we installed it — and we stand behind our installation.

We scheduled a visit and repaired the issue at no charge.

When we say our work is guaranteed, we mean it.

Step 1: Removing the Broken Screw Properly

The first step was carefully boring out the broken screw. Once removed, it left a large, clean hole in the wood.

At this point, many contractors would insert a simple dowel stick and call it done.

That would have been faster. It also would have likely failed again over time.

Step 2: Reinforcing the Area with Solid Maple

Instead of using a soft filler or inexpensive dowel, we selected a piece of solid maple — a dense hardwood known for strength and durability.

We custom cut the maple plug to fit the hole precisely. After inserting and securing it, we trimmed it flush to the surface.

This restored structural integrity to the door and provided a solid base for the new hardware.

Details like this are what prevent repeat failures.

Step 3: Installing a Stronger, Longer Screw

We replaced the broken fastener with a longer, stronger screw designed to better handle the load placed on a shed door lock.

Functionally, this solved the issue.

But visually, the new screw was gray while the existing hardware was black.

That wasn’t acceptable.

Step 4: Finishing the Repair Cleanly

We taped off the area and spray painted the screw head black to match the original hardware.

The repair now looked intentional, thoughtful — not patched.

While we were there, we also noticed the shed door had swollen slightly and was sticking at the bottom of the opening, likely due to humidity changes.

We took additional time to sand and refine the fit so the door opened smoothly and closed properly.

No extra charge.
No hesitation.

Why This Matters

In Jacksonville, sheds and outdoor structures take a beating from heat, humidity, and seasonal storms. Hardware and materials expand, contract, and endure constant exposure.

That’s why installation matters just as much as materials.

More importantly, this is why guarantees matter.

Our 5-year craftsmanship guarantee isn’t just a line on a website. It’s a commitment to long-term performance and peace of mind.
